Overview
How It All Started The idea of Backyard Meats began the same way all great things are inspired; over Bud Light at a backyard BBQ. We were tired of paying for low quality meat at a premium price; especially living in Alberta. So after chewing on some overpriced, thinly sliced grocery store steaks, we set out to source authentic, local Alberta meat. Here in Calgary, we know there is no excuse for subpar meat – we have the best in the world right in our own backyard. That got us thinking, why can't all meat be held to the same standard as our beloved Alberta beef? We then shared our newly sourced, tastier, leaner, and more flavourful meat with our friends and family; which they all loved! The company Backyard Meats started when our friends and family began to recommend our product to their friends and family. Right then and there, it was decided to extend our products to our friends, family, and neighbours of YYC! We are able to provide a better product at a cheaper price as we eliminate the overhead of grocery stores and butcher shops allowing our products to get from the field to your plate quickly and affordably. It is the mission of Backyard Meats to provide Calgary with quality meat at affordable prices that will bring together friends and family to every meal.
